Fallout New Vegas

This is the game that I had hoped Fallout 3 would be. However, it is another two years later and I wanted something more than what Fallout 3 should have been. New Vegas mostly delivered, but it didn't capture my imagination quite like its early predecessors. I plan on updating this review after repeated playthroughs; we shall see if that changes.

Star Wars: The Best of PC

The best of PC offers awesome gameplay within the Starwars universe and throws in a little variety along with it. If you're hard presssed to find a workable Xbox to play your old KOTOR games or your republic commando then no worries. For a very cheap price you can play both, and have the luxury of playing Jedi outcast, Battlefront and Empire at war all in the same box. The graphics are far better than the console versions, provided of course that your PC graphics setup is compatible. Great investment and highly moddable content out there to change things up a bit.

Total War: Shogun 2

This game is great. All of the good things from all of the total war games come together to make this the best total war yet. 5 difficulty levels make the hard setting, hard, and the very hard setting... very hard. The computer cheats with making more units than they could possibly muster in a short amount of time. But, combined with the ai being smarter in this than in previous games and the computer opponents making more units than the game would allow a human opponent, the difficulty is suitable for a seasoned total war expert, like me.

World of Warcraft

This game is probably the closest thing you are going to find to the holy grail of mmogs. It is the Half Life 2 of MMORPGS (I repeat OF mmorpgs, nothing comes close to Half Life 2 in its own arena). If WoW has one fault it may be its player vs player and player vs enviorment balancing issues, but no mmorpg is going to come close to what this game already has in those terms.

The Sims Medieval

While this isn't like your other typical The Sims games, it's very well thought out and I'm enjoying it. It's sort of a cross between The Sims and a simulated game. You don't control just one person/family, you control the kingdom by using a different toon for each quest....sometimes multiple toons. I agree with the first reviewer, that it's not as fun as The Sims 2 or 3, but it's a great game in its own right and well worth the money.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Having been playing since 2005 I feel confident in saying that this seems to be my favorite expansion yet. No expansion will ever live up to the original discovery when first playing the game five years ago but this is quite refreshing. I love the new zones. I love the polished graphics and maps. I also love the increased phasing with this expansion. Flying in Azeroth really gives the game a whole new feel also. Flying over all the zones we have been confined to ride through since WoW's release is cool by itself. There are a few minor bugs right now but that is expected with the release of a major expansion. I have faith that Blizzard will clean a few things up in a timely fashion. I was skeptical of how "epic" this xpac would be but it did not let me down. Of course there is the same type of kill/collect quests but there is some new fun type of quests also. Hope you all enjoy the game as well!

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty

I won't get into details, but this is definitely one of the best RTS games out on the market. They've captured all the fun of Starcraft Broodwar and added in features that were missing. Sure, some of the features like LAN are gone, but most people have broadband internet nowadays anyway. Also, I will say that the transition from Starcraft Broodwar to Starcraft II was much better than the leap from Halo CE to Halo 2.
